Robert F. Smith is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. Vista, founded in 2000, is a U.S.-based investment firm with more than $30 billion in cumulative capital commitments, and oversees a portfolio of over 35 software companies that employ over 45,000 employees worldwide. In 2016, Vista was named the world’s #1 performing private equity firm, according to the HEC-Dow Jones annual ranking. Prior to Vista, Smith was Co-Head of Enterprise Systems and Storage for Goldman Sachs and he also worked at Kraft General Foods, where he earned four patents. Smith earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, where the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering now bears his name. WHAT

The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME) has enjoyed a 40-year legacy of leadership and service in assisting the career development of underrepresented minorities in engineering, technology, math- and science-based professions.

The 40th Anniversary Awards Dinner & Celebration is a premier fundraiser to support NACME in its mission to increase its scholarship support for African American, American Indian, and Latino students in engineering.

This event also honors individuals who contribute to NACME’s mission and who have gone far beyond the call of service. The awards bestowed to individuals will be: the Alumni Circle Award, Corporate Citizenship Award, Diversity Vision Award, and the Reginald H. Jones Distinguished Service Award.
