NACME Scholars and Alumni:

I would like to thank you for your continued financial support throughout the years. My family does not have a lot of money and they often cannot bear the additional burden of my educational expenses. As a result, I have attempted to fund most of education alone and if it were not for your support it would have been far more difficult to do so. Additionally, your contributions have made it possible for me to do more than just go to school. I have been able to have a fulfilling and rewarding experience outside of my academic life .I truly appreciate everything that NACME has done for me in the past and I am thankful that future NACME Scholars will also be able to benefit from your geneosity. Once again, thank you for your generosity and continued support.

I was a NACME-TechForce scholar from 1995 to 1999 while attending University of Puerto Rico. I just finished a Masters degree in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I would like to THANK YOU very much for the great support that I received from NACME. Being a NACME scholar meant a lot in my life as a student and helped me set high goals for my career. I have been working for just a couple months, but would like to start helping NACME help other students.

It is truly an honor to be awarded the NACME Internship Scholarship. Because of this scholarship, I am able to pay for tuition and other necessities. Upon graduating, I plan to work in the aerospace or power systems industry.

This scholarship will be of great help because I can decrease the amount of hours that I spend at work. This scholarship also gives me an extra incentive to excel in my studies. I intend to not only maintain my current academic performance, but to improve my performance.

NACME Corporate Partners:

Dear NACME:

On Saturday, February 12, 2005 close to 300 high school students attended Technology Awareness Day (TAD) at BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, Texas. The students were from secondary schools in the Ft. Worth Independent School District, and area Upward Bound programs. The impetus for this event, as part of BNSF's Black History Month
activities, was a collaboration of several area businesses that saw the need to provide mentors and information to students regarding the value of technology and engineering as a career choice. The half day event featured a college fair, college financial aid workshop, technology demonstrations, and included the ever-popular BNSF train simulator. The center-piece for this year's event was the technology showcase where three gifted students were awarded prizes for excellence in web design. The prizes included laptop computers, digital photography equipment and printers. These students, along with those who were noted as honorable mention, received a Math is Power poster.

NACME has been involved with Ft. Worth's initiative for several years. Last year, all the instructors received a CD, donated by NACME, which provided information about the importance of Math in one's everyday life. The CD also held vital information regarding resources and teaching aids. This year, NACME sent brochures in English and Spanish for the TAD participants. These brochures were part of the registration packet, and many teachers asked that we continue this partnership. It truly takes a whole community to raise our children, but it also takes the intervention of concerned corporations and organizations to prepare them for the global challenges they will face when they leave their community. Thanks NACME for being part of our success with TAD.

Regards,
Birdie M. Sadberry
Manager, Technology Services

Other friends of NACME:

I just had a chance to check out the new website, GuideMeNACME... it's slammin'! Lots of useful information and certainly appealing to a wide variety of audiences. I plan to take my 9 year-old son to it later and let him explore the pre-college stuff. Good job!
