Eligibility & Team Formation

• Teams must consist of at least four team members to a maximum of six members. At least 50% of the team must be confirmed NACME Scholars.
• Teams must be composed of engineering and computer science students who are current full-time matriculants at a NACME Partner Institution, both at the time of registration and during the Hackathon itself.
• Each team must have at least one computer science student and at least one engineering student.
• At least 50% of each team must be confirmed NACME Scholars.
• Each team must assign a project leader who is the school’s qualifying^ NACME Ambassador, either current year: 2022-2023 or the nominated Scholar for next year: 2023-2024. ^A NACME Ambassador must be a Junior (two years remaining) at the time of nomination.
• Team members will have on-site requirements as part of the program, e.g., visiting a minimum number of career fair tables, attendance at meal events, etc.
• Each team member/team must be willing to sign a photo/video release for NACME’s use.
• Changes to team members are not permitted after the start of the NACME Conference, specifically, Wednesday, October 12th, at 12:00 Noon Eastern.

Benefits & Prizes

• Each NACME Partner Institution that registers a qualifying team* by September 14, 2022 will receive two complimentary hotel rooms at the NACME conference hotel, check-in October 12th and check-out on October 15th. (Additional hotel rooms can be booked within the block at the University’s cost). *By registering a team, the Partner Institution agrees to arrange travel for team participants to the conference location. The 2022 conference location is Atlanta, GA.
• Each prize package consists of an individual team member tuition scholarship and a travel grant (direct payment of hotel rooms) to support a minimum amount of NACME Scholars to travel (with the school’s chapter) to a NACME Networking Event at up to three of four 2022-2023 STEM Diversity Conferences+. The entire chapter must attend the NACME Networking event where they received support.
• 3rd Prize: $1K tuition scholarship for each team member; up to $1K travel grant for the school’s student chapters of choice to travel to at least 2 2022-2023 NACME Scholar Networking Events.
• 2nd Prize: $2K tuition scholarship for each team member; up to $2K travel grant for the school’s student chapters of choice to travel to at least 2 2022-2023 NACME Scholar Networking Events.
• 1st Prize: $3K tuition scholarship each team member; up to $3K travel grant for the school’s student chapters of choice to travel to at least 3 2022-2023 NACME Scholar Networking Events.

Because the AISES NACME Networking event is prior to the BP NACME Hackathon, if a winning team picks the AISES conference, the travel grant will be processed as a reimbursement.
