2026 National Virtual Bridge (NVB) - Gateway to Academic Excellence

Program Dates:

  • Orientation: Thursday, June 18, 2026

  • Courses: Monday, June 22 – Friday, July 24, 2025

Are you an incoming first-year, first-time, full-time engineering or computer science student? Prepare for a strong start in college through the National Virtual Bridge (NVB) program—a 5-week, non-credit, virtual summer experience designed to support your academic and social transition to your university.


Why Join NVB?

NVB is designed to enhance your first-semester performance and help you build a strong foundation in your STEM education. Participants will:

  • Preview core college-level subjects including Pre-Calculus/Calculus, Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering Design

  • Develop the mindset and habits needed to think like an engineer—analytical reasoning, creativity, and problem-solving

  • Participate in professional development seminars and guest speaker presentations

  • Gain tools and strategies for academic success and critical thinking

  • Build a network of future classmates, learn how to build rapport with faculty, and engineering professionals

  • Engage in interactive community programming that supports personal growth and career readiness

  • Receive recognition as a NACME Scholar Affiliate

  • Earn a $500 stipend upon successful completion of the program

    Eligibility
    • A first time, first-year college student

    • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

    • Majoring or planning to major in computer science or engineering

    • Matriculating in a Bachelor of Science program at:

      • NACME Partner Institutions or

      • Engineering Plus Alliance Universities and Colleges

    • Commit to the program schedule of 9:45 am - 3 pm ET, Monday-Friday for 5 weeks.


    PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:

    2. Transcript (high school unoffical/official) upload
